Consultation
Bedford Borough Council held a presumption competition in June 2023 for a sponsor to be appointed to operate a brand new free school located in the Wixams area. In order to accommodate this new school provision, Bedford Borough Council identified a site for the new school and initiated a build process, which is due for completion in Summer 2024. The school will provide, when full, 840 places for primary aged children from Reception to Year 6. Initially, it will open with a Reception Year, Year 1 and Year 2.
Kingsbridge Educational Trust undertook a Section 10 Consultation on the new school provision located in Wixams and sought the views and feedback of all parties who may have an interest in, or be affected by, this new school provision. The Section 10 Consultation ran from Wednesday 4 October and closed at 4pm on Tuesday 21 November 2023.
The outcome of the Section 10 Consultation can be found below:

- An address is deemed to be in catchment area if ‘Wixams’ is included in the address for the property.
- The distance will be measured in a straight line from the designated address point at the child’s home address to the main front door of the school’s reception lobby.
