Creative Art from Willow Grovers!
In art last half-term, the children continued to develop their observational drawing skills and their understanding of sculpture.
The exploration started with careful looking and drawing, and from this “grounded” basis, children were encouraged to take creative risks by using experimental mark-making with a variety of media.
They used a beautiful picture book called ‘Fly’ by David Lindo and Sarah Boccaccini Meadows to explore different features of birds and had time to explore this in their sketchbooks.
Children were then invited to create their bird models, which were brought together to make a “flock” – with each child’s artwork valued as part of the whole piece.
A thoroughly enjoyable creative experience for all!
