Wixams Scarecrow Festival 2025 – Meet Welcomecrow!

Willow Grove is proud of everything our staff and children do, but this moment deserves a special mention!

Our entry to the Wixams Scarecrow Festival won 1st place! 🏆

A huge well done to our amazing children from ‘Nature Club’ and Mr Peck, who brought Welcomecrow to life!

“15 nature-loving members of the Willow Grove Primary School ‘Nature Club’ dreamed up a scarecrow that doesn’t scare anyone!

After lots of giggles and ideas from our pupils, they created “Welcomecrow” with big, friendly crow-like features.

Children surrounded it with shiny seeds and colourful leaves and other goodies to make birds and animals feel right at home.

Our Welcomecrow isn’t here to shout “Go away!” – it’s here to flap its wings and chirp “Come and play!”
